Hello! I’m Chandler, a pre-licensed clinician at The Better You Institute, excited to walk alongside you on your journey to healing and self-discovery. My approach centers on trauma-informed care, ensuring that our work together respects your unique experiences and fosters a sense of safety and empowerment.

I use narrative therapy to help you explore and reshape your personal story, allowing you to find meaning and strength in your experiences. By reframing your narrative, we can uncover the resources you already possess and create a path forward that aligns with your values and aspirations.

I believe that therapy should be a warm, inviting space where you feel comfortable expressing yourself. My goal is to build a trusting relationship that encourages open dialogue, laughter, and growth. Together, we’ll navigate the challenges you face and celebrate the progress you make along the way. I look forward to working with you!

My approach is relational and depth-oriented, focusing on the root causes of your struggles rather than just the surface symptoms. Therapy is a place where you come to discover the contours of your mind. Relationally, within a connected, supportive, and honest therapy relationship, I will elicit curiosity and challenge you to process and explore in new ways. Together, we’ll strive to open up new ways of relating, give you more agency in your life, and address what brings you to therapy in a holistic, expansive way. Ultimately, I see you as the co-author of our work: the expert of your experience. I will look to you to collaborate, take risks, and share your mind with me. My style is active, curious, direct, and attuned.

People are adaptive; we do the best with the tools that we have. Whatever brings you to therapy likely reflects a way of being that once served you, a strategy that helped you adapt. This is one reason change can feel so difficult: we hold on to what has worked. I’m here to help you find compassion for those old strategies, understand their function, and imagine new ways of being that allow you to thrive.

I am passionate about working with individuals and couples. I specialize in issues of identity, trauma, and relational challenges. I am passionate about working with individuals and couples who identify as a part of marginalized or alternative communities, including those navigating alternative relationship structures. I also work with people who want to explore aspects of socially dominant identities, such as whiteness or masculinity, with curiosity and openness. Helping you explore an authentic expression of who you are in the world is what brings me to this work.

People would describe me as a person who is caring and open-minded. I have been told that I am the validating voice that was needed during difficult times. Growing up as a first-generation Irish American has given me a great perspective on identity formation. I love working with people to establish their sense of identity. Identity development allows people to know their passions, purpose, and values. My goal is to give you the space in sessions to explore your identity and sense of Self throughout the therapeutic process by establishing a strong, safe, and trustful relationship with you throughout our sessions.

Through Division I Rowing at Temple University, my experience has made me highly aware of the importance of mental health. When working with individuals, I remind them it is okay to fail and to have past failures. Failure is a part of your success story because of the lessons learned along the way. I like to carry this approach into my sessions. Often failure brings up emotions of shame, guilt, and fear. You learn from uncomfortable experiences in life, and this discomfort often leads to growth. I work to help people adopt a growth mindset. Having a growth mindset inside and outside sessions allows you to embrace life’s challenges, empowering you to continue learning and growing throughout life.

I tend to view therapy as a puzzle! We will put the pieces together throughout sessions to help you gain a clearer picture and a new perspective. Puzzles can be challenging yet rewarding, similar to therapy. I will assist you in solving your own puzzle through the use of person-centered, experiential, somatic, emotionally focused, and cognitive behavioral approaches. Together, we can dive deep to discover the crux of the issue. We will then process what is there so you can move forward and feel confident and in control of your life.

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. Philadelphia is significant to me because I grew up right outside of the city. My love of the city has grown stronger due to the people, experiences, and connections I have made. Outside of sessions, you can find me exploring new coffee shops, attending fun workout classes, and spending time with friends and family. I’m excited for you to start your wellness journey!

We are all on our own path to finding meaning and purpose in this world, and I will be here to support and guide you. Therapy can be a vulnerable, eye-opening, and, at times, a challenging process. My approach is to help you find balance, achieve better awareness, and gain practical coping skills while assisting you in each step towards that path. My passion for helping others shows up in sessions through my compassion, empathy, warmth, and drive to help you overcome life’s stressors and roadblocks.

With my extensive experience working with adults, I am confident that we can work together to alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, self-esteem, bipolar, grief and trauma, life transitions, or substance use, and find healthy and helpful ways to cope and grow. As an LGBTQ+ ally and affirming therapist in Philadelphia, I will provide a safe and sacred space for exploration, personal understanding and growth, and continued support in your journey.

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. However, I will bring different therapeutic techniques and tools into our sessions from various evidenced-based therapy models, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. With the use of these models and my keen sense of leaning into what you need at that moment, you can feel safe while taking an explorative process to reach your goals.

I received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on addictions from Rosemont College. To work with you at my best, I read the latest therapy/support books and articles and educate myself to continue to grow and learn. At times, I will share some information through supportive articles, books, and worksheets to use in our process. I believe in hope and healing and would love to assist you on your journey!

Hello! I’m the Owner/CEO and Clinical Director of The Better You Institute, a boutique psychotherapy practice serving high-achieving individuals and couples who want more than symptom management; they want meaningful, lasting change.

I specialize in relationships/couples therapy and sex therapy.

My work is attachment-based, trauma-informed, and process-oriented/experiential. Rather than focusing solely on coping strategies or behavior modification, therapy with me is about understanding why patterns keep repeating, how your nervous system and relational history are shaping your present experience, and what it actually takes to create second-order/bottom up change that endures.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples who appear successful on the outside but feel disconnected, overextended, emotionally stuck, or caught in painful relational or sexual cycles. Many of my clients are thoughtful, driven, and self-aware, yet frustrated that insight alone hasn’t led to the shifts they want in their relationships, sense of self, or emotional capacity.

My approach integrates attachment theory, relational and somatic process work, and evidence-based models, including Gottman, Emotionally Focused Therapy, IMAGO Therapy, and Relational Life Therapy, to support deep relational healing. Therapy is collaborative, attuned, and experiential, with an emphasis on helping you feel more secure, embodied, and empowered, both within yourself and in your relationships.

If you’re looking for therapy that goes beyond “talking about it” and instead helps you experience real change, you’re in the right place.

I have a very limited client caseload. Please call our intake line 267-495-4951 if you are interested in scheduling with me.
